Technical requirements for the reed
(1) The reed should have flat and evenly arranged heald wires with clear and shining spaces between the teeth, and should be free of soft or damaged wires or scratches.
(2) The heald wires and tying wires should not have rust, with smooth surface without cracks or burrs, and the edges should not have sharp corners. The surface of the reed should be flat without high or low teeth.
(3) The density of the reed and the range of the heald eye should be measured and tested according to product technical requirements.

Types and structures of the heald frame
There are three types of reed: welded, glued, and composite. In the welded type, there are two sub-types: tin-welded and plastic-welded. Glued type is commonly used for most metal wire fabrics in China, where the wires are uniformly wrapped between two heald wires and coated with an adhesive.
