The following is a brief overview of the steel loom reed manufacturing process and requirements:
(1) Cutting: The steel strip is cut to the required width with a deviation of ±0.02 mm for 12 mm, ±0.005 mm for 8 mm, and ±0.005 mm for 7 mm. The steel strip should be free of watermarks, edges, cracks, frills, and S-bends. The maximum bending tolerance should not exceed 2 mm/m.
(2) Sheet Making: The steel strip is joined in the same bending direction and filled into the sheet disc. The thickness of the joint cannot exceed 30% of the sheet thickness. The steel strip side and four corners are polished and brightened using sandpaper. The steel strip side should be smooth, free of burrs, edges, curvature, oil stains, with a strong joint and no obvious joint marks.
(3) Heat Treatment: Test and adjust the furnace temperature and strip speed during the heat treatment process, and observe the quality of the steel strip at any time. If quality defects are found, adjust the furnace temperature, strip speed or auxiliary accessories of the heat treatment furnace. The treated steel strip should be flat, bright, free of distortion, watermarks, waves, oxidation, and rust. The hardness of the treated steel strip should be between 53~58 HRC, with good toughness and elasticity. The bending gap should not exceed 1 mm/m when manually bending it to a 180° angle.
(4) Weaving: Install the required semicircular iron to the weaving machine, adjust the weaving height and roller feeding length, and replace the winding wheel according to the number of applications and the actual size of the steel strip. During weaving, check for joint, rust, bad, bent, double, watermark, and arc-shaped steel strip patches, and replace them one by one. The weaving should be neat, with appropriate tightness, no large gaps, no matching arc, no joint marks, and the steel density, working height, working length and total number of plates must comply with the requirements of the steel loom.
(5) Gluing: Prepare the adhesive in a certain ratio and evenly apply it on the parts outside the semicircular iron. The glue should penetrate into the reed strip and be evenly saturated. Place the horizontal frame on the glue coating and cure it at room temperature for 24 hours. Soft pieces, large arc-shaped pieces, and root angle routes are not allowed, and the inner penetration of the glue should be limited to less than 0.5 mm.
(6) Rank Reed: Use special tools to scrape the reed plate, use sandpaper of corresponding particle size to polish and brighten the steel loom, and use a special tool to pick up slag knives and reed forks to trim the reed plate to a uniform and neat state and meet process requirements.
(7) Inspection: Acceptance according to the technical requirements and inspection methods of the steel loom standard.
(8) Storage: The qualified steel loom is submitted to the warehouse with the steel loom card. The surface of the steel loom is wiped with special anti-rust oil for steel, oil-sealed, and then wrapped with oil-sealed paper.
