Rapier Entering Time In Wire Mesh Weaving

There are two ways to express the time of rapier entering: One is expressed by crankshaft running angle;  the other is represented by the slay swing position.

1. Time of beating-up of weft wire (The bell crank is at the front dead center), When the crank angle is 0°,  It is often used to enter the rapier when the turning angle is 90°-95°. As shown in the figure.

2. After beating-up of weft wire , the rapier starts to enter into the shed when the reed is 65-75cm away from the weaving mouth.

If the rapier entering time is too early, the rapier head would break the warp easily. Meanwhile, the  rapier is earlier to leave from the twist mouth after the weft- insertion which is easily to form the weft nest  (the loose weft ).

If the rapier entering time is too late, the rapier head enters into the twist mouth smoothly, and it is not  easy to break the warp. While the rapier head leaves the twist mouth too late after the weft insertion which will cause serious friction between the rapier head and the warp. When the loom reverses(Jog backward), the  rapier head will break the warp easily.
